We do not create, but rather recreate. Every act of creation is an act of trying to recreate something beyond ourselves.I am fascinated by the systems we employ. Our systems for knowing and understanding the world. The most important systems are our internal ones, and these area product of our memory.Depsite the name, memory is by and large an act of forgetting. We forget specific things, and change others. This forgetting creates a variety of internal displacements from our histories, our memories and our dreams. It is only through the act of forgetting, of displacement can we function as a society. This displacement fuels our imaginations inspiring our art and our art becomes an expression of our forgotten, half-remembered selves. It is here I find the landscape of my work.
